Shield's Restaurant Bar Pizzeria

Shield’s is one of the original Detroit style pizza places and a perfect destination for anyone in or near Troy. They spent a million dollars renovating this location which we always head to for family gatherings.

We are from Missouri and on a quest to try an awesome Detroit style pizza. We’ve tried three other places recently and they weren’t right or even that good. It was rather disappointing to try the others.. After a google search to find out where the best Detroit style pizza is in Troy, we were led here. There’s a lot on the menu I also want to try besides pizza that I’ll come back for. We asked our amazing server, Kelsey, for a Detroit Michigan pizza experience and she immediately said, “You want the original square Shield’s Super”. We also ordered a Michigan Harvest salad, which was big enough for the two of us to share. We had open window seating we also loved. Kelsey was very attentive, friendly and helpful our entire dinner. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We had a baby shower for 35 people in their party room. I highly recommend it. They charged $16/person. The staff was extremely accommodating and no additional charge for the room. We decorated and brought in our own desert. Lots of space and the waiters were excellent. So helpful.

My husband & I enjoy the Pizza Plus special at lunch & I just wanted to say it’s very good & economical. We were there yesterday & so happy to have Rich as our server. He is so pleasant & attentive. Sadly, the past two times we were there, we had a very unpleasant waitress & I’m so glad she wasn’t on staff yesterday afternoon. She clearly doesn’t like her job. Back to our food & service yesterday.

I hosted my second party this year at Shield’s in Troy and again they never disappoint!! Not only is the food absolutely delicious but their service is incredible!! Amber was on top of everything! I felt like she treated us as her own family! Amber is amazing!! Herlinda was incredible as well!! Thank you ladies for everything you did tonight !!! You made my life so much easier having my son’s birthday party here tonight!

Well, from the looks of the parking lot I thought it was jam-packed busy but it wasn't. It was a nice crowd. Ordered carryout Don't remember the name of the pizza but it was basically tomato sauce, spinach, feta and onions and I added chicken. It was absolutely amazing. While waiting on my pizza I went to the bar and I got me and espresso martini. That was the best expresso martini I have had in a very very long time. The bartender was very nice and sweet and in the back of the restaurant where the to-go counter was the lady was really really nice. Had a great personality and smile. Definitely will go back and visit this Shields. I typically go to the one that's in Woodward in Detroit overall I give this place a 9.9 lol go and check them out!

Our family of 6 had a GREAT dinner out at Shield's in Troy a few evenings ago. My family has visited since my father brought us when I was growing up, and I'm happy to say the food, service, and atmosphere are still fantastic every time we come. Waitstaff are always pleasant and they take care of us completely. All of the entrees, but especially the Gold Medal pizza, were excellent, and everything was fairly priced. The place was clean, well kept and took good care of our family group. Was just telling my husband we need to start coming more, very much recommend to others. Thank you Shield's, we will be back!
